Exchange Stablecoin Reserves Drop as Bitcoin Rallies Lose Momentum
Multi-billion-dollar outflows from major cryptocurrency exchange stablecoin balances have coincided with slowing trading volumes and weakened price momentum across digital assets.
Binance's stablecoin reserves have fallen to a one-year low of $41.6 billion after $6.3 billion departed the exchange since April, according to CryptoQuant data published by analyst Darkfost. The platform's ERC-20 stablecoin balance has dropped approximately $9 billion since peaking near $51 billion in late November 2025.
The contraction in exchange liquidity is widespread. Outflows since April have removed $2.5 billion in stablecoins from Coinbase Advanced, $2.4 billion from OKX, and $2.3 billion from Bybit, bringing total losses across the four platforms to roughly $13.5 billion. Across the wider market, USD Coin's supply declined from $78 billion to $72 billion over the period, while Tether remained steady around $183 billion.
The decline in exchange reserves has coincided with a loss of price momentum. Although Bitcoin rose from its August lows to $86,597 on September 22 before retreating to around $83,350, on-chain balances continued to shrink throughout the advance. Concurrently, daily Bitcoin trading volume fell from $38.6 billion in April to $28.2 billion in October.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
